Dinafem Feminised Cannabis Seeds was finally born in 2005, after years of guerrilla growing in the Spanish mountains and intense study of all available growing guides and techniques. Dinafem Seeds founder, Mister Green Finger, has studied his craft in England and in Holland and has dedicated much of his life to learning all about the cultivation of cannabis seeds, especially the feminised variety, and has set about proving that the Dutch growers are not magicians and that he too can produce the highest quality cannabis seeds.
...I focused mainly on feminised seeds because they are harder to do and I am more attracted to doing something novel, and as a final product they are more successful. And because I seem to have achieved incredible feminised seeds of my favourite plants.
The Big Buddha has been writing articles for Weed world for several years, as well as providing pictures of the Cheese. In the meantime, during the last two years he has also had the opportunity to work on his genetics in the Meditarranean area.
The Big Buddha first acquired a Cheese cutting back in early 2002 and started a little side work on crossing Cheese with an excellent true landrace Afghani male, that was given to him by an old friend who had spent time in the region. Selected female Afghanis were really big yielding plants, with really tight internodes, (as well as a rich, lovely deep fruity bouquet), the male had the same smell and had excellent tight branching. The first cross made was late in 2002. There were some varied results but through selection the best male was backcrossed with the original Cheese. Further to this, with a move to a more suitable location further backcrossing was carried out which helped to add to the hybrid vigour of the strain.
Once some seeds had been produced and handed to colleagues in the industry who congratulated The Big Buddha on his work he began full commercial seed production, with an emphasis on testing viability, stability and germination rates of the seeds.

DNA Genetics started out growing in the late 80's in our home town of Hollywood, or as we say, Hollyweed, California... We would collect seeds from friends, family and, of couse, those rare bag seeds from the best medicine we could get at the time. Being in California means we had lots of original and exotic herbs to choose from and to work with over the years.

So in early 2003 we moved to the Mecca of Cannabis, Amsterdam. The first thing that we noticed was the lack of quality weed. We mean there was some good herb out there, you just had to search to find it. So needless to say we got right to work. D&A figured out the perfect name for our seed company.
