K.C. Brains, based in Holland, was the overall winner of the Dutch Weed Cup 2001 with his Haze Special. Breeding since 1979, K.C. has done a lot with Thai, Brazilian and other strains.
We began by first finding and cultivating many of our all time favorite varieties. That led us to the creation of many of a library to maintain a consistent high quality product. From the time it was developed, and then cultivated, we opened retail outlets to allow the Dutch public to try the quality controlled varieties of the Greenhouse Seed Company.

Ceres Seeds is a 100% homegrown Dutch seed company. Its history goes back to 1988 when its owners started their first seeds and cuttings. There is a famous childhood story of one them, buying cuttings and growing supplies at Positronics ? with his grandmother! The Ceres Seeds team were learning the ropes back then. The Big Buddha has been writing articles for Weed world for several years, as well as providing pictures of the Cheese. In the meantime, during the last two years he has also had the opportunity to work on his genetics in the Meditarranean area. The Big Buddha first acquired a Cheese cutting back in early 2002 and started a little side work on crossing Cheese with an excellent true landrace Afghani male, that was given to him by an old friend who had spent time in the region. Selected female Afghanis were really big yielding plants, with really tight internodes, (as well as a rich, lovely deep fruity bouquet), the male had the same smell and had excellent tight branching. The first cross made was late in 2002. There were some varied results but through selection the best male was backcrossed with the original Cheese. Further to this, with a move to a more suitable location further backcrossing was carried out which helped to add to the hybrid vigour of the strain. Once some seeds had been produced and handed to colleagues in the industry who congratulated The Big Buddha on his work he began full commercial seed production, with an emphasis on testing viability, stability and germination rates of the seeds.

Reserva Privada is a West Coast collective of breeders who until now had no place to showcase their creations. These breeders are all protected by medicinal laws within their states but still wanted to remain nameless. With our roots being in the West Coast, we came together to help bring the world these special strains under the name RESERVE PRIVADA. (Most of which you can't get anywhere else and are indigenous to the West Coast i.e. Heirloom strains etc.)
